OSRAM Announces Appointments in C-Level and VP Roles
Digital Systems and Sylvania Lighting Solutions Business Units
Wilmington, MA – OSRAM, a global high-tech lighting company, today announced the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer for its Sylvania Lighting Solutions business unit, and the appointments of two OSRAM employees in the Digital Systems business unit to the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales. All three will be based in OSRAM’s Americas Region headquarters, located in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Juan Lopez has been named Chief Financial Officer for OSRAM’s Sylvania Lighting Solutions and Traxon Technologies. Lopez comes to OSRAM from Parexel International, where he served as Director of Business Unit Finance for the Clinical Trial Supplies & Logistics group. Prior to Parexel, Lopez held business and financial positions of increasing responsibility at several global companies focusing on high tech, specialty chemicals as well as R&D and manufacturing, including Cabot Corporation, Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc. and Teradyne, Inc. A native of Colombia, Lopez earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota D.C., Colombia; and earned his Global MBA in Finance from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management.
Philip Semprevio has been named Chief Operating Officer for OSRAM’s Digital Systems (DS) group. Semprevio joined OSRAM in 2010 as Senior Project Leader where he led rapid, profitable, new product development and launch activities across the Solid State Lighting division of OSRAM. Most recently, Semprevio served as Head of Project Management for DS in the Americas Region. Semprevio brought with him experience as an entrepreneur, having founded a small business in Florida; as well as broad operations experience through his roles as Division President, Group President and Corporate Executive Vice President for CTS Corporation.
Yavor Kolarov has been named Vice President of Sales in the US and Canada for OSRAM’s Digital Systems. Kolarov has spent his entire career at OSRAM, starting as an Applications Engineering intern in 2008, and working his way up over the last 10 years, including roles as Product Manager for LED Power Electronics, and Head of Product Management for Solid State Lighting components. In his new role as VP of Sales, Kolarov will be responsible for leading the sales and customer service teams in the Digital Systems group in the US and Canada markets, and is responsible for the strategy and execution of all commercial activities and relationships in the two countries and across three sales channels. Kolarov earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering at Suffolk University, his Master’s in Electrical Engineering at Boston University, and successfully completed the General Management Program at Cornell University.
